There’s a kind of quiet closeness that comes out when a couple stops performing for the camera. They just lean into each other instead. That’s exactly what carried this whole session. Miracle and Emmanuel spent their portrait time tucked into the rolling green paddocks near The Manor. Together, they traded laughs, dips, and lifts against a soft, muted backdrop that felt like something out of a film.
Private Vows
Before the ceremony, Miracle and Emmanuel shared their private vows on The Manor’s balcony — just the two of them, away from the crowd. A few tears made their way through before the first word was even spoken, and honestly, that’s exactly the kind of moment I love capturing most.
The Ceremony
When it came time to decide who would go first, Miracle and Emmanuel skipped the coin toss and settled it the old-fashioned way — a quick game of rock, paper, scissors in front of all their guests. It was a small, playful moment that set the tone for the rest of the ceremony: joyful, unscripted, and completely them.
Portraits
What struck me most about this session wasn’t the setting. Instead, it was how present Miracle and Emmanuel were with each other. Every shot felt unscripted: a dip mid-laugh, a hand reaching up to fix his hair, a lift that turned into a spin. Basically, these are the kind of moments you can’t direct — you can only wait for them.
Meanwhile, the soft, overcast light did its own quiet work too. It was flattering, even, with none of the harsh shadows a bright sunny day can bring. As a result, the whole set has a gentle, romantic feel that suited them perfectly.
Reception & Dancing
The reception brought all the classic chaos and joy you’d expect — starting with the quiet, sweet moment of cutting the cake together. Things picked up from there with a hilarious round of the shoe game that had guests roaring with laughter. And just when things seemed to settle, Emmanuel found himself hoisted into the air by his groomsmen, cheered on by the whole room. It was loud, it was joyful, and it was exactly the kind of energy that makes a reception unforgettable.
A Few of My Favourites
Some days a portrait session becomes more than just photos. Instead, it becomes proof of how two people actually are together when no one’s watching too closely. This was one of those days. For example, there was Emmanuel’s smile every time Miracle looked at him. Then there was the ease of her laughter. Above all, there was the way they moved together without needing to be told where to stand.
A few other moments from the day stood out too. One of my favourites is a quiet reflection shot — a mirror caught one of the bridesmaids mid-moment, adding a whole extra layer to the frame without anyone even noticing at the time. Then there’s a slow shutter shot where Miracle and Emmanuel stand perfectly still while the bridal party blurs into motion around them — a nice reminder that even in the middle of a busy day, some things stay grounded. And when the rain rolled in, Emmanuel didn’t hesitate to wrap his jacket around Miracle’s shoulders, a small, instinctive gesture that ended up being one of the sweetest moments of the whole day.
